While most fans choose to drive, there are a few public and semi-public transportation options available for those attending NASCAR events at Sonoma Raceway. Services like charter buses, regional trains, and local transit connections can help get you close, though some planning and transfers may be required. Below is a breakdown of your main alternatives.

Traveling to Sonoma

Charter bus services: Rally Bus

Rally offers round-trip and one-way bus services to Sonoma Raceway from various locations in the Bay Area. These buses are scheduled specifically for major events like the Toyota/Save Mart 350. Train and bus 

From San Francisco:

• Golden Gate Transit: Take Bus 101 from San Francisco to the DeLong Ave Bus Pad in Novato. From there, you can arrange a taxi or rideshare to the raceway. ​

From Sacramento:

• Capitol Corridor Train: Travel to Martinez Station. From there, you can rent a car or use a rideshare service to reach the raceway.

Local transit options

Sonoma County Transit
This service operates buses throughout Sonoma County. While there isn't a direct route to the raceway, you can use local buses to get closer and then complete your journey with a taxi or rideshare.

Rideshare (Uber & Lyft)

Using a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft is usually a convenient way to reach Sonoma Raceway. Getting dropped off before the event is typically smooth, but leaving after the race can be tricky. Demand surges, available drivers are limited, and traffic near the track slows everything down. Expect elevated fares and potential delays. To make pickup easier, consider walking a short distance from the venue. 

There is a designated rideshare pickup/drop-off area to help streamline the process at Gate 6 (Highway 121) — just follow the posted signs or staff directions.

Car Rentals
