Heading to the NASCAR race at Sonoma Raceway? Here are some helpful tips to make sure you get the most out of your race weekend:
Early – especially on Sunday
Race day traffic can get heavy, particularly on Sunday when gates open around 7:00 a.m.. Arriving early helps you beat the rush and gives you time to enjoy the pre-race atmosphere without stress.
Bring your own food and drinks.
You’re allowed to bring your own snacks and beverages into the track—just be sure to leave any glass containers at home.
Plan ahead for traffic and parking.
Traffic can be busy all weekend, especially near the main entrances. Map out your route, build in extra travel time, and reserve parking if possible. Knowing exactly where you’re parking will make your arrival a lot smoother.
Set a meeting spot
Cell service at the track can be spotty with so many people around. If you’re attending with friends or family, pick a meeting place in advance in case you get separated and can’t reach each other by phone.
Make a Plan
There’s more to do than just watch the race. Check out the fan zone, food stands, and merchandise tents. Take a few minutes to plan your day so you don’t miss out on anything.
